They continue on to the Uruk-hai Camp where Aragorn finds signs that the Hobbits fled into Fangorn Forest. They follow and meet Gandalf the White. Gandalf leads them to Edoras and the Golden Hall. While in the Edoras Stables, he calms Brego, who had been Théodred's horse. Gandalf also rides out, telling Aragorn to look for him on the morning of the fifth day. On the way to Helm's Deep, Aragorn is wounded when Saruman's Wargs attack near the White Mountains, but Brego carries him to Helm's Deep. King Théoden gives him command of the defense of the Deeping Wall. When the wall is breached, Théoden orders Aragorn to fall back to the Keep. During the battle, he convinces Théoden to make one last ride out of the Hornburg.
