The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Places: Uruk-hai Camp

Fangorn Forest

Uruk-hai Camp:
- Appears in The Two Towers

After capturing Merry and Pippin at Amon Hen, Saruman's Uruk-hai had been marching day and night to bring them to Isengard. The Orcs from Mordor that had joined them were hungry and tired. As they made camp on the edge of Fangorn Forest, the two groups got into an argument about fresh meat. When one Orc attempts to go after the Hobbits, an Uruk-hai intercepts him and the group has some fresh meat.

The frenzy to claim some food leaves Merry and Pippin ignored, they begin to slip away. Grishnákh stops them, but then the Rohirrim attack the camp.

The next day Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas encounter the patrol of Rohirrim led by Éomer. He tells them that the force that they were following has been wiped out. The three continue on to the camp where at first they despair over finding the burned remains of one of the Elven belts that had been given to them. Then Aragorn finds traces of the two Hobbits. They discover that the Hobbits escaped into the forest.
