11/10/07 - The "Inspiring the Future" online contest highlights the influence that Blade Runner has had on both leading and amateur filmmakers, musicians, writers, designers and artists. Until 12/14/2007, fans can vote on their favorite entries to help determine who will win 5 grand prizes of $1,000 home entertainment system across the different categories. Instant win prizes such as framed Blade Runner movie posters and DVDs will also be rewarded for viewing and voting. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Director Ridley Scott went back into post production to create the definitive new version, Blade Runner: The Final Cut, which arrives on DVD on Dec. 18th.

8/2/07 - The groundbreaking digitally animated sci-fi crime thriller Renaissance arrives on DVD. Shot using motion capture technology by innovative director Christian Volckman, Renaissance was five years in the making. Set in the labyrinthine underworld of 2054 Paris, the black-and-white thriller in the vein of Blade Runner and Minority Report paints a bold vision of a stark, not-so-distant future where all life is monitored, recorded and regulated thanks to the city’s largest corporation, Avalon.

Renaissance

6/24/05 - The Jacket is now available on DVD. Adrien Brody stars as a Gulf War veteran wrongly accused of murder, and subsequently committed to a mental institution. A controversial treatment regimen sends him on a mind-bending journey into the future, where he can foresee his death - and must try to stop it. Also stars Keira Knightley, Daniel Craig , Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kelly Lynch and Kris Kristofferson.

When he is accused of murdering a police officer and committed to a mental institution, he is put on controversial treatment regimen. In his drugged and disoriented state, Starks' mind propels him into the future, where he meets Jackie, and discovers that he is destined to die in four days. 11/20/04 -  Director George Lucas's widely influential first film, the prescient science-fiction adventure THX 1138 , debuts on DVD from Warner Home Video in a Two-Disc Collector's Edition that features The George Lucas Director's Cut of the film. The Two-Disc Collector's Edition DVD sells for $26.99 SRP. A single-disc version with limited special features is also available and sells for $19.97 SRP.

No apologies will be made for the choices or omissions. Star Trek IV is purposely missing. Star Wars also is missing because it's closer to fantasy, been done to death by everyone else and was not personally influential.
