The Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Places: Northern Ithilien
Northern Ithilien:
- Appears in The Two Towers
Gollum leads Frodo and Sam into Northern Ithilien after telling them that there is another way into Mordor other than the Black Gate. While in Northern Ithilien, they make Camp. Gollum catches a rabbit and he and Sam argue over how it should be prepared although Sam eventually wins out and Gollum slunks off, pouting.
After a rest, Frodo wanders off and spots a force of Haradrim. He and Sam then witness an ambush on the Haradrim by Ithilien Rangers of Gondor, captained by Faramir. They are captured by the Rangers and taken to Henneth Annûn.
