This movie is a modern classic. It has something extremely rare nowadays in that God and faith are central to a character and treated with respect by the film. It is set in England in the years just following World War I. The two main characters are a wealthy Jew and a Christian from a missionary family. The film won the 1981 Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Screenplay. The soundtrack also garnered a Best Music Award.
