Ford of Bruinen:
- Appears in The Fellowship of the Ring
Soon after Frodo is wounded at Weathertop, Arwen arrives and quickly bears Frodo toward Rivendell. The Nazgûl closely pursue, but Arwen reaches and then crosses the Ford of Bruinen. At first, the Nazgûl halt at the river's edge, but Arwen entices them to cross after her and Frodo. Once they all make their way into the river, Arwen calls the river down on them which washes them and their steeds downriver.
