Let's not forget, however, that England was just as guilty of the oppression and extermination of native peoples in North America for 200 years before the creation of the United States. After all, The Pequot War, King Phillip's War, and Lord Dunmore's War, just to name a few, were all fought with the intent of taking Indian land for the Crown while at the same time killing the Indians or selling them into slavery in the West Indies. The U.S. just took things to the next level, which continues to be a bloody stain on our history.
