He orders her thrown in the brig, but Commander Adama later orders her released when the Cylons attack.

Colonel Tigh in Season One:
Colonel Tigh is loyal to Commander Adama in all his orders except when Commander Adama and his son, Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama, become obsessed with rescuing Lieutenant Thrace who goes missing after taking on a Cylon Raider patrol. Tigh quietly sides with President Laura Roslin looking out for the good of the rest of the fleet. Tigh attempts to stay on the wagon, but falls off the wagon again and Lieutenant Thrace calls him out for it. After the fleet has been fleeing the Cylons for several weeks, his wife, Ellen, mysteriously appears with no idea how she reached the fleet. Her reappearance brings some happiness to Tigh, but also brings out some petty behaviors.

President Roslin undermines Commander Adama by encouraging insubordination in Lieutenant Thrace with a mission to return to Caprica to retrieve the Arrow of Apollo, when Adama wanted her to infiltrate the Cylon Basestar. As a result, Adama orders Tigh and Captain Adama to arrest Roslin. During the standoff on Colonial One, Captain Adama turns on Tigh, but Roslin surrenders and now Tigh places Captain Adama under arrest. Tigh is in CIC when Lieutenant Sharon 'Boomer' Valerii shoots Commander Adama.
