August 21 - Banastre Tarleton is born in Liverpool, England.

1775
April 20 - Banastre Tarleton purchases the commission of Cornet in the Green Dragoons 1st Reg.
- Banastre Tarleton volunteers for duty in America.

1776
June 28 - Banastre Tarleton is present at the Battle of Fort Sullivan at Charleston, South Carolina.
December 13 - Banastre Tarleton helps capture Maj. General Charles Lee.

January 8 - Banastre Tarleton is promoted to Captain.
January 20 - Banastre Tarleton nearly captures Captain Henry Lee,
August - Banastre Tarleton is promoted to Lt. Colonel and put in command of the British Legion.
