The Time Machine is based on H. G. Wells' novel of the same name. I remember first seeing this movie when I was young. The scene where the dead Morlock decays as George speeds into the future always stuck with me. Some of the effects were cheesy (such as the Morlock costumes), but overall the movie has a wonderful feel and does a good job of skipping through different time periods. It does go formulaic near the end of the movie with our time traveling hero saving the beautiful and helpless girl. The film also capitalizes on the fear in the 1960's of an atomic war and it's fallout. It was an enjoyable movie with the help of quality acting.
