Like most films from the 1970's, Logan's Run has bad haircuts, bad costumes and cheesy effects, but there is still something entangible about this film. Logan's Run was based on the novel of the same name. This future has a careful balance where population is controlled with a simple solution: everyone must die at the age of thirty. Logan is a Sandman, one of those responsible for seeing that no one tries to outlive their time.

Now Logan is turning thirty and is having second thoughts about that rule after he is unable to 'put down' his last assignment Jessica. Together, they try to escape the city to freedom beyond, while being pursued by one of Logan's former friends, Sandman Francis. It's different from most science fiction, because they don't spend the whole movie escaping the city to the freedom beyond, but actually get 'beyond' and have to deal with the unexpected there as well.
