Episode 11: Cabin Fever; A "Locke" Episode; May 8, 2008
4/25/08: One of the promo pics shows Locke in the cabin and a blonde can be seen in the background. From ABC [So Christian Shephard was already seen in the cabin and now this could be Claire, especially with spoilers about a special and mysterious storyline upcoming for Claire. What is special about the Shephard clan?]
4/25/08 (originally 3/30/08): Location shooting moved to what turned out to be St. Sebastian Neurology Clinic. Matthew Fox (Jack) was there in scrubs, but apparently so was John Terry (Christian Shephard). Scene apparently were shot at the hospital front desk and another in Jack's office. From Ryan in Hawaii [We've added this spoiler here with Matthew Fox's admission that they were filming three episodes at once, the fact that John Terry is listed as appear in this episode and the note from TV Guide that Christian Shephard reaches out to both his children.]
4/25/08: Richard Alpert, Matthew Abaddon, Christian Shephard and Horace Goodspeed (Dharma Initiative) appear. From the boat, Frank, Keamy, Omar, the doctor and Captain Gault appear. Other guest characters include Emily, Emily's mother, John Locke at age 5, John Locke at age 16, Gellert, Florence, Melissa, ER doctor, ER nurse and physical therapist. From ABC [This is clearly a Locke flashback based on the two younger Lockes. However, with Richard, Horace Goodspeed and the possibility that Emily turns out to be the same Emily that is Ben's mother, it seems that Locke and Ben are closely tied.]
4/20/08: Locke is enlightened as to the whereabouts of Jacob's cabin, and life aboard the freighter becomes perilous. From WCHS [We're assuming that life on the freighter becomes dangerous for Desmond, Sayid and Michael, since it's already been dangerous for the dwindling crew.]
4/9/08: Added episode title. From DarkUFO [That just sounds like a cheesy title, but considering the episode has shaped up to being a Locke episode and he's all about Jacob, it actually is a conceivable title.]
4/7/08: Another location shoot involved a young girl (5-7 years old) running out of a house and getting hit by a car that dated from the '50s or '60s. Ryan in Hawaii
4/5/08: The second day at the location apparently was a different set and not only was Terry O'Quinn, but Lance Reddick (Matthew Abbadon) as well. Also, there was "on-Island" filming which included a DHARMA door on a hillside as well as Jin, Sun, Charlotte and Daniel walking through the jungle. Later the same night, a Hawaii high school doubled as Cowin Heights High School where a sixteen year old Locke talked to a [science] teacher. Ryan in Hawaii
4/5/08: Apparently, there was more location shooting at a hospital, but this time it had more of a fifties feel. Locke's mother, Emily, was there in what looked to be Locke's birth, but the most interesting item was that Richard Alpert was there as well. Also, Terry O'Quinn (John Locke) was scheduled to be onset the next day. Ryan in Hawaii [In light of these spoilers, we're switching this episode to Locke-centric.]
3/29/08: The episode features the following guest characters: Florence who is "any ethnicity, late 30s; a foster mother who is worn out and overwhelmed; she is charmed by an unexpected visitor she anxiously hopes might help her situation, but she turns punitive when it doesn't go well." Gellert who is "any ethnicity, 30s-40s; high school chemistry teacher, intelligent and understanding, he offers a bright student the chance of a lifetime but becomes resentful when the offer is refused." Mother who is "caucasian, late 30s, with red hair and blue or green eyes, Frazzled, annoyed, trying to keep her daughter under control and tired of dealing with her when she seems to only make one bad decision after the other."From Casting Calls [These casting calls don't seem to fit with a Ben episode, but we'll see.]
3/29/08: The episode features a guest character named Susie who is "any ethnicity, 30s to 40s; A nurse working the late shift who unexpectedly has to help deliver a baby. Professional and compassionate, she tries to help the mother adjust to her new Inreality." From Casting Call ['Inreality'? Typo?]
3/20/08: Ausiello adds the following details to the below casting calls: "Episode will feature the same male character at different ages. Also, said male character has green eyes. Who are we talking about here? The easy answer is: Duh, it's Ben and Annie, his childhood pal. But! Conflicting intel says these characters appear in a Locke-centric episode, which is confusing." From Ausiello
3/20/08: Five-year-old Boy - Caucasian, green eyes, sweet, shy, tentative and smart. Has to take a test and becomes nervous about passing. Teenage Boy - Plays as 16 or 17, Caucasian, green eyes. Angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious. There's a lot more to this kid than meets the eye. Tries to fight back against older, stronger boys but is pushed into a locker. Teenage Girl - Plays as 16, Caucasian, red hair (or willing to dye hair red). Emotional, prone to dramatic gestures, passionately in love and fights with her Mom about it. From Casting Calls
