Omar was Sayid's superior in the Iraqi Republican Guard. He assigned Sayid to Nadia's interrogation. After months with no results, Omar order Sayid to execute her. Sayid pleads for more time, but time has run out. When Omar interrupts Sayid as he is aiding Nadia's escape, Sayid shoots him.
