The Princess Bride is an adaptation of William Goldman's novel of the same name. Goldman himself wrote the screenplay for the movie and it shows in the quality and humor of the script. The novel and movie both are satires of the fantasy genre, but the movie gets to make fun of the bad acting, cheesy effects and poor storytelling found in so many other fantasy movies.

The Princess Bride never takes itself too seriously and that lets you laugh at it and with it, and it still manages to have some action and even a little romance (that even guys can watch). It has more than a few memorable one-liners. The movie hasn't lost its charm for me even after several viewings. original content and design Copyright © 1999- Scott Cummings, All Rights Reserved.
