As the official synopsis indicates, the treasure hunting-driven plot relies on Templar/Freemason conspiracy theories. The film takes more than a bit of historical license, but is still enjoyable because of the locations and references to the Colonial, Revolutionary and Federalist periods of American history. Though their uses in the film are contrived, they can serve to pique interest in learning more about such things as the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress and Independence Hall.
