January - Daniel Morgan is exchanged for a British prisoner.
April - Daniel Morgan rejoins General George Washington's main army.
June 13 - Daniel Morgan is given command of a 500-man corp of light infantry.
August 30 - Daniel Morgan joins Maj. General Horatio Gates on his Saratoga Campaign.
September 19 - Daniel Morgan commands the advance at the First Battle of Saratoga.
October 7 - Daniel Morgan commands a flanking force at the Second Battle of Saratoga.
November 18 - Daniel Morgan rejoins General George Washington's main army.
1779
July 18 - Daniel Morgan resigns from the Continental Army and retires to his home.
1780
May 7 - Maj. General Horatio Gates is appointed Southern Department Commander.
June - General Gates asks Daniel Morgan to join him, but Morgan declines
June - Congress orders Daniel Morgan to join General Gates, but he does not comply.
September - Daniel Morgan arrives in Hillsborough, North Carolina joining General Gates.
October 2 - Daniel Morgan is given command of a light infantry corps by General Gates.
October 13 - Daniel Morgan is promoted to Brigadier General.
December 3 - Daniel Morgan reports to his new commander, Maj. General Nathanael Greene.
December 21 - Daniel Morgan leaves Charlotte, North Carolina in command of 600 light infantry.
1781
January 17 - Daniel Morgan defeats Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton at the Battle of Cowpens.
February 10 - Daniel Morgan is forced to retire to his home due to illness.
July 7 - Daniel Morgan joins the Marquis de Lafayette in Virginia.

- Daniel Morgan builds a home, which he names "Saratoga."

March 25 - Daniel Morgan receives a gold medal from Congress in recogntion of Cowpens.

- Daniel Morgan leads militia against protesters during the Whiskey Rebellion.

- Daniel Morgan is elected to Congress.

July 6 - Daniel Morgan dies in Virginia.
